HOW TO GET A FREE FIRST CAT MINI COMIC
Shawn and I made an 8-page First Cat mini-comic that will be available—for free—at participating bookshops on April 27, 2024, which is Independent Bookstore Day. Happy Independent Bookstore Day Eve Eve!
UPDATE: We have received a list of shops that will have copies. It’s here. It sounds like some shops just got one or two. Some might have as many as ten.
Here is a map of bookstores taking part in Independent Bookstore Day. It’s worth double checking with the shop to make sure that they will have our comic—there are a whole bunch of goodies and exclusives this year, and my impression is that not every participating store will necessarily be carrying this one. A few hundred shops will have copies, but nobody has told us which ones. I do know that Alice, Ever After Books will have some (because they mentioned it on Instagram) but probably only, like ten. Hey Buffalo, NY: Get over to Alice, Ever After Books!
Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, which means the participating shops are in the United States. If you live somewhere else and want a comic book, or if you live in the US and would be willing to nab one for a First Cat fan abroad, leave a comment: the comments section has historically been a place for beautiful cooperation/international goods fencing.
Shawn and I are excited about this little comic book, although we haven’t actually seen a copy in real life. We will, like many of you, be trying to track one down on Saturday.
Long live independent bookshops!

We're in Australia..happy to swap a comic for something here..a kangaroo, koala, some shrimp freshly cooked on the bbq, or tim tams?
My daughter is a fan of First Cat and pals and we're in Canada! Would love to get a copy and would be happy to pay for the shipping cost. Also, I run a children's store that is now almost half a children's bookstore because I can't stop ordering books - is there any chance we could get our hands on a few extra copies for other First Cat fans in the area? Sending much love from Hamilton, Ontario - thank you for making these wonderful books! www.parkette.ca
